Obese’ness’

Two weeks ago I got into a taxi when one of my own coloured brothers (the taxi driver) turned around, looked at me and said: “God help us all just look at you with your obese ‘ness’ nogal. I wanted to answer: “My obese’ness’ is none of your business!” But then I remembered: “NEVER ARGUE WITH A FOOL ‘CAUSE THEY WILL BRING YOU DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL AND BEAT YOU WITH EXPERIENCE.”

I felt horrible not that he had said it, because I am nogal ‘duidlik’, but the look of total disgust he gave me when he said it. Then to add insult to injury he said this loud enough for everyone in the taxi to hear. Ten-to-one- you will find this same guy wanting to kill anyone who dares to say anything about his own daughter’s obese’ness’. Like me there is definitely someone in his family –who like me- is built for comfort and not for speed’.
